Currently, most research on vision and eye disease is carried out primarily on animal models that have no macula and no fovea, i.e., the mouse and the zebrafish. Although the visual system of birds represents a considerable source of insights, few scientific studies have focused on the bird fovea. The aim of the Foundation Gene&Vision.ch is to encourage and provide financial support to research projects in this emerging field.
Gene&Vision.ch is a Swiss non-profit foundation and all the money it raised goes to research projects.
If they wish, contributors can be regularly informed of the progress of research by subscribing to our newsletter.
